CTTP NEWSLETTER: July Edition

Date: 07-30-25

In a commitment to realign members' understanding of biblical discipleship, Christ to the Philippines, Inc. (CTTP) continues its effort to conduct discipleship resets and retreats among local churches. This is to continuously train not just CTTP’s current leaders, but also emerging ones on discipleship to pursue its God-given vision and mission.

CTTP Nambalan church hosts its first district Discipleship Reset and Retreat

Forty seven (47) participants from various CTTP churches in the North Tagalog District (NTD) attended the Discipleship Reset, held on June 2, 2025, at Nambalan, Tarlac. The group included 29 participants from CTTP Nambalan, 12 from CTTP Bani, and six (6) from CTTP Mangaldan. The Reset covered personal, discipleship, church, and cultural resets, offering a fresh perspective and facilitating paradigm shifts along these areas.

"Iyong great commission, parang nagkaroon ako ng great burden para doon. And lagi ko pong pinagpe-pray kay Lord na, ‘Lord, equip me.’ Itong pagkakataong ito, parang naging isang way ‘yon para ma-equip ako — hindi lang ako but also the leaders. Malaking impact po ito at malaking tulong para sa amin," a participant remarked.

The reset cascade played a crucial role in equipping leaders to fully engage in CTTP’s Christ Discipleship Roadmap (CDR) journey, starting with the change in perspective at the personal level to the level of discipleship and disciple-making, and further to the level of the church that demonstrates a biblical culture as the Body of Christ.  Other important topics in the cascade included a number of tools and guides that a disciple-maker can use in doing his role in the CDR journey.

As of writing, CTTP Panganiban and CTTP Vinzons are currently going through the Reset and Retreat from July 23 to July 25, which will be followed by Ligao/Iriga churches in August.

Sequel Retreat in CTTP Nambalan

The retreat was held the following day, June 3, 2025 after the reset workshop and participated in by 25 Nambalan’s current and would-be leaders.

The start of retreat was encouraging as the team stood and boldly shared their testimony, motivating others to do the same. This provided a safe space for vulnerability, healing, and spiritual breakthroughs as participants reflected on their walk with Christ.

The same goal was echoed by Blessing Silverio in her testimony, where she expressed her gratitude for her groupmates’ courage and honesty in sharing their deepest struggles and for the leading of the Holy Spirit that moved them to open up.

Ptra. Eva Calica also shared her thoughts, emphasizing the value of small groups in spiritual growth, “Ang problema, ano ba ang gagawin at saan magsisimula? May mga cell group kami pero napakaganda ng small groups [tulad rito sa retreat].”

Through these powerful testimonies and the work of the Holy Spirit, we were reminded that God continues to use each of us to inspire and strengthen one another. It highlights that confession and vulnerability in prayer are keys to an intimate and authentic relationship with God.

The half-day schedule the next day, June 4, focused on the four emphasis of CDR, i.e. Holiness, Accountability, Love, and Obedience (HALO). The last topic was a discussion of an Evangelism Plan that CDR outlines for the local churches to implement. A follow-up visit will be done by the team for churches willing to adopt such plan. The two and a half-day activity was capped by an open forum.

CTTP partners with IGM for Summer Discipleship Conference

Last June 10–13, 2025, the International Grace Ministries (IGM), an international church partner of CTTP, spearheaded the Summer Discipleship Conference at St. Michael’s Retreat House, Antipolo. With the theme "Abide" anchored in John 15, the 4-day event gathered 63 emerging leaders and 22 team members from CTTP churches and IGM Philippines.

The conference aimed to equip the participants with strong biblical foundations to prepare them not just for church ministry, but also for impact in their personal and professional lives. The program combined plenary sessions, small groups, praise and worship, morning devotions, and creative presentations — making space for both personal reflection and communal accountability. Simultaneously, the pastors together with their wives had separate mentoring sessions with IGM Senior Pastor James Shin, and with his wife, Julie Shin.

Conference Highlights

During the four days of the conference, Ptr. Benjamin Kim, the IGM Associate Pastor, guided participants into a deep reflection on their thoughts, fears, and identity in Christ. He emphasized the importance of listening to the Holy Spirit and walking in humility, reminding everyone that true freedom comes when we recognize that "God is God, I am not — and that is good." The sessions encouraged participants to become aware of the “enormous” grip their thoughts and fears may have over them and to break free from these strongholds by anchoring their identity in Christ.

Throughout the sessions, Ptr. Ben addressed the lies people believe, their tendency to respond out of fear, and the healing power of forgiveness. Heartfelt moments of praise and worship, prayer walk, and small group sharing and processing created space for them to be vulnerable and authentic before God through His Truth. The participants were also introduced to the Rhythms of Remembrance — practical ways to continue to abide and grow in their intimacy with Christ beyond the conference. Creative presentations, group skits, and written commitments helped them internalize the message of abiding in Jesus daily.

This conference invited everyone to reframe their thoughts and emotions through the lens of Christ, preparing them to return to their daily lives and spheres as more grounded and Christ-centered individuals. May the seeds planted during these days bear fruit in their communities, families, and churches, as they grow in grace and walk closely with the True Vine.
