CTTP opens 2026 with nationwide prayer and fasting

As one church, Christ to the Philippines, Inc. (CTTP) began the year with its annual three-day Prayer and Fasting, held on January 7-9, 2026 with the theme “An Invitation to Follow”. Drawing from Matthew 4:19, this year’s prayer and fasting called the church to reflect on Christ’s invitation: “Come, follow me” — and to start the year with renewed devotion.

Prayer and Fasting (2)

Local churches gathered their respective congregation together, uniting in prayer for the church, the nation, and the shared mission of discipleship. The prayer and fasting highlighted the daily call to follow Christ, the cost and marks of authentic discipleship, and the necessity of discipleship as the foundation of leadership.

Fasting was observed not merely as abstaining from food but as setting aside natural cravings and distractions to be more sensitive to God’s voice and leading. Through prayer and fasting, CTTP emphasized consecration, community, and obedience to Christ’s call as the foundation for the year ahead.

CTTP Nagcarlan and CTTP Batasan convene for transitions in the National Office leadership

CTTP Nagcarlan and CTTP Batasan joyfully conducted their first-ever joint meeting as the National Technical Team at CTTP Murphy Mission House on January 10, 2026. This meaningful gathering took place in line with the ongoing transition of the National Directorship, currently led by Ptr. Voltaire Pablo and soon to be assumed by Ptr. Johnny Espejo.

National Team

Guided by a spirit of unity and service, 30 representatives and leaders from Nagcarlan, Batasan, Katuparan, and Murphy came together to discuss the purpose and direction of the National Technical Team. The meeting began with introductions and fellowship, allowing team members to connect and build stronger working relationships. The CTTP Nagcarlan team presented the main purpose, current members, and functions of the National Technical Team, providing clarity and direction for the ministry.

To ensure smoother coordination and execution, Nagcarlan and Batasan counterparts were formally identified for each functional area. This step reinforced shared responsibility and continuity of ongoing work between the National Office and the local churches. The meeting agenda focused on strengthening systems, clarifying roles, launching strategic projects, and preparing for upcoming activities of Christ to the Philippines. Key events were also discussed, during which tasks and responsibilities were prayerfully assigned. Planning for the 47th National Convention took up almost half of the meeting.

This collaboration between the churches marked an inspiring and God-honoring beginning, reflecting a shared commitment to serve the Lord with one heart and one purpose. It is a timely encouragement to all CTTP ministers and members to continually uphold in prayer the implementation of these initial plans, as well as the preparations for the leadership transition, trusting the Lord to guide and sustain the ministry in the days ahead.

Participants get water baptized during the Casiguran Reset and Retreat

The first CTTP Discipleship Reset and Retreat of 2026 was held from January 30 to February 1, 2026, at CTTP Casiguran, Aurora, with 31 participants including teachers, young people, and leaders.

Reset Retreat Feb

Aside from the normal set of programs, a highlight of CTTP Casiguran’s Reset and Retreat was the water baptism of four (4) women who publicly declared their faith in Christ. Rev. Sherwin Sandoval facilitated the orientation, while Rev. Johnny Espejo and Rev. Voltaire Pablo III officiated the ceremony.

Other participants also shared their testimonies which focused on renewed passion for prayer, deeper understanding of discipleship, and encouragement from fellowship with other believers. Many expressed gratitude for the chance to pause, reflect, and realign their walk with Christ as they start the year. Read the participants’ testimonies in the next section of this newsletter.
